LESSON 2: One thought, many pictures
OBJECTIVE: The learner will learn that a word, phrase or
sentence can have many different pictures.
The fan fell.
Have the learner read the above sentence. Explore with the learner all
the different pictures we can make from this one sentence. Create some
different pictures with this sentence, for example:
A red fan fell.
A blue fan fell.
A hand fan fell.
An electric fan. . .
A round, electric fan. . .
A big, round, electric fan. . .
A 24-inch electric fan. . .
A sports fan. . .
Make the point that describing words (adjectives), such as red, blue,
hand, electric, round, big, 24-inch, and sports, all make the picture
clearer by reducing possible options.
