Mindplay - Educational software Helping people learn

Dear Judy

Since receiving inquiries from our concerned parents and teachers, we have developed this page to present a public bulletin of communication between you and Mindplay. We encourage suggestions and questions about reading and basic skills. You are not alone in your thoughts, and this dialogue can empower others in their ability to promote positive paths to learning. Please participate in this dialogue by writing to me: click here.

DEAR JUDY:

Jean is 12. She has a difficult time reading.  She often skips or substitutes words, making it difficult for her to understand what she just read. What can I do to help her?

DEAR JUDY:

My daughter is nine and not reading well. Since I need something that starts at the beginning, I am wondering if My Reading Coach is too advanced for her? I looked at the online assessment test and realized she would have a hard time with some of the questions.

DEAR JUDY:

My child is going to third grade and still cannot read or write properly. I held her back in Kindergarten knowing she was not ready for the first grade. I am afraid she is developing a low self esteem even though I have her convinced she is a genius. When writing, she often gets her letters reversed. Sometimes, she also gets right and left confused. Can you offer some suggestions? I am not in a good financial position so cost is a serious problem.

DEAR JUDY:

An eighth grade student reads from a text clearly and without mistakes. Following his reading, he remembers specific words highlighted in bold but not the comprehensive ideas of the text. Does your product improve comprehensive reading?

DEAR JUDY:

I previewed your test today. I am a middle school literacy specialist looking for appropriate materials for 7th and 8th graders. I was unable to tell from your samples if the test is appropriate for upper level students.
