My Reading Coach Platinum Version 2 Update
Latest release: 2.2.3 (November 18, 2010)
"Version 2" vs. "Version 1"
Version 2 of My Reading Coach Platinum was released in October of 2008.
Any school or school district that ordered My Reading Coach Platinum in or after October 2008 received the newer version 2.
Any school that ordered My Reading Coach Platinum before October 2008 would be using some variation of the original version 1.
Because of the significant changes in the program to accommodate changes in Windows (Windows Vista in particular), version 2 is a paid upgrade from version 1.
This means that the updates to version 2 cannot be applied to a computer that has version 1 installed. If you are running My Reading Coach Platinum version 1, please contact your MindPlay educational software representative for the upgrade pricing.

Changes
The updated version makes the following changes since the initial release of the program.
Version 2.2.3 (November 2010):
- Bug fixed: Student Phonics Performance Report wouldn't list review test scores for individual lessons
- Added additional protections when there might be database connection/network issues
Version 2.2.2 (April 2010):
- Bug fixed: Reports that list "Total Lesson Time" no longer include time spent on the tests
- Bug fixed: Student Attendance Report gives total time spent in program when printed.
Version 2.2.1 (December 2009):
- Change: Removed 19 words from the test word list to aid clarity
Version 2.2:
- Bug fixed: Fixed bug where program would not accept words ending in Y if spelled correctly in the Word Building activity for lessons 41 and 45.
Version 2.1:
- Bug fixed: If the student was taking a placement test or review test covering all the lessons and exited while almost done with the test, the test would sometimes restart when the student logged in again.
- Bug fixed: If the Supplemental Lessons list was accessed for printing, the program would stop responding.
- Bug fixed: Misspelling words in certain ways would cause the program to give an error and would not continue.
- Bug fixed: If a computer was upgraded from version 1 to version 2, the Writing activity might only give generic feedback on student errors instead of specific feedback.
- Bug fixed: Students could repeatedly click on the "repeat instructions" button and cause the program to stop responding for an extended period of time.
- Change: The microphone options have been changed. The default option will disable the record & playback feature. The other option is student controlled. (Note: After upgrading, the recording option will be disabled for most students.)
- Change: When the student has missed one of the five words in the Spelling activity, hitting the Enter key after retyping the previously missed word will cause the program to check the work instead of repeating the word.
Determining Which Update You Need
The specific update depends on which edition of My Reading Coach you are using.
If you are unsure, the fastest way to tell would be to see what comes up when you first launch the program.
If you are in My Reading Coach, exit out of it completely and then launch it again:
If the first thing it asks you to select is your SCHOOL, then you are using the WAN/Multi-site edition.
If the first thing it asks you to select is your CLASS, then you are using the Professional edition.
If the first thing it asks you to select is your NAME, then you are using the Single Student edition.

Once downloaded, run that file on the computers that have My Reading Coach Platinum (version 2) installed.
