My Reading Coach is an excellent tool for home use. It is a phonics-based program that improves reading comprehension. It has been successfully used with struggling readers from ages 6 through adult. The program assesses reading skills, assigns lessons and monitors progress. With My Reading Coach, the struggling reader is instructed by virtual teachers. These coaches will support your child and encourage reading proficiency.
More than a million people have learned to read with this educational reading program. The family version of the software allows you to track the progress of your child by simply clicking on her/his name during a lesson, or printing one of the reports.
My Reading Coach is not an entertainment program. Before purchasing it for home use, be aware that it will take 40 – 60 hours of use for your child to complete the program. To achieve the desired results, your child must use the program consistently on a daily basis until completion. We recommend from thirty-minutes to one-hour per day, five days per week depending on the child's age and attention span. Learning to read requires patience, practice and persistence. We suggest that you motivate your child to succeed with rewards after successful completion of each of the four review tests.
